Buying projection advertising
Bought from AV and projection-mapping production companies, or through an experiential agency, as a per-night or per-event package covering projectors, rigging, content production and operators. Content animation is quoted separately from the hardware. Permission to project onto a facade comes from the building owner, and permission to occupy the projector position and draw power comes from whoever controls that ground.

Where the rules stand
There is no dedicated national rule for advertising projection. The operative constraints are consent from the owner of the surface being projected onto, municipal advertisement permission where the projection is visible from a public place — projecting a brand message onto a building without the local body's advertisement permission can be treated as unauthorised display — and traffic and public-order conditions from local police where the projection is near a carriageway or draws a crowd. Guerrilla projection onto a building without the owner's consent is not something we would call legal. We are not certain how consistently municipal advertisement rules are applied to temporary projections across Indian cities, so the position is best described as unsettled and locally interpreted.
