Drone shows

A drone show is a choreographed night-time formation flight of many small lit drones that draw a brand logo, product shape or animated sequence in the sky above a fixed audience point. It is an event format, not a media placement: it runs for a few minutes on one night, over one venue, and its value is the crowd that gathers plus the video that is filmed and reused. In India it is sold and delivered by a small number of specialist swarm-drone operators, not by outdoor media owners.

An aerial banner is a fabric message towed behind a light fixed-wing aircraft over a beach, stadium or crowded event — a format familiar from the United States. India has no comparable commercial banner-towing market, so the practical answer to this search is usually a different aerial format.

Branded balloons in India usually means a large tethered sky balloon, or an inflatable arch, dome or character, placed at a store opening, exhibition, property launch or roadside event and printed with the brand. It is a short-duration attention device tied to a specific spot and date, not a booked media location. It is cheap to fabricate and reusable, which is why it is common in local advertising.

Skywalk branding

Skywalk branding is advertising on an elevated pedestrian bridge — the outer facade panels facing traffic, the internal side panels facing walkers, the staircase or lift-tower wraps, and sometimes the deck itself. It is bought for the combination of a long, unobstructed facade above the traffic stream and a captive pedestrian audience inside. Because a skywalk is public infrastructure, the advertising rights are usually held by one concessionaire rather than sold site by site.

Projection advertising

Projection advertising throws a bright image or an animated sequence onto a building facade, wall or surface after dark, either as a simple flat projection or as projection mapping fitted to the building's architecture. Like a drone show it is an event, not a placement — it runs on given nights from a fixed projector position and its reuse value is the film. It needs a dark surface, a clear throw distance and mains power.

3D anamorphic screens

A 3D anamorphic screen is a curved or L-shaped outdoor LED display running content built with forced perspective so an object appears to break out of the screen when viewed from one specific spot. The effect exists only from that viewing position and only with creative made for that exact screen geometry. In India these are a very small number of individual screens in a few metros, each a named location rather than a network.

An auto-rickshaw back panel is a printed board fixed to the rear of an auto, seen by everyone behind it in traffic. It is bought in fleets rather than singly and works as a saturation format across a city or a set of routes, since autos circulate through the neighbourhoods they are based in.

LED vans

An LED van is a truck or tempo carrying a large LED screen, usually with a public-address system, that parks or crawls along a chosen route playing video content. It is used for launches, roadshows, election and public-information campaigns, and for reaching markets and residential clusters that fixed outdoor does not cover. It is a day-rate format bought by route and hours, not by location.

Full bus wraps

A full bus wrap covers the exterior of a city or intercity bus in brand livery, turning a vehicle that runs a fixed route all day into a moving display. Unlike a hoarding it repeats along a whole corridor rather than sitting at one junction, and unlike an auto panel it carries a large enough surface for a proper creative. Rights are held by the state transport undertaking, so this is a tendered format rather than an open market.

Airport terminal displays are the backlit panels and digital screens inside a terminal — check-in, security, gates, arrivals and baggage reclaim. The draw is long enforced dwell time and very little competing media. Airport media rights are held by the airport operator and awarded to concessionaires, so this is a closed, tendered market rather than one with independent site owners.

Residential no-parking boards

A residential no-parking board is the small printed board mounted outside a house, gate or compound wall that says no parking and carries a brand's name, logo and phone number in the remaining space. It is a hyperlocal format: it is read at walking distance by people in that one street, and it stays up for a long time because the resident wants the board there for its own sake. It works for categories that sell within a neighbourhood — real estate, clinics, tuition, home services, local retail.

Village wall paintings

Village wall painting is hand-painted brand messaging on the outside wall of a house, shop or compound in a rural or semi-urban settlement, often in the local language. It lasts months to a couple of years without any recurring media cost, which is why it remains the mainstay of rural advertising for FMCG, agri-input, cement, paint and financial products. It is bought by wall count across a set of villages, not by impressions.

Door-to-door distribution puts a printed leaflet into individual homes across a chosen set of apartments, colonies or streets. It is the format local businesses reach for when they need a measurable response within a defined catchment — a store opening, a clinic, a coaching centre, a food outlet — because the flyer can carry an offer code or a phone number that tracks. Its weakness is verification: the gap between flyers printed and flyers actually delivered is the whole risk of the buy.
